Sidney Hibbitt, Sr.

Sidney Jerrell Hibbitt, Sr., 71, passed away on November 18, 2013 in the peace of his home surrounded by his loving family. Jerrell was born on December 16, 1941 the son of Willard Robert and Evie Mae (Ballenger) Hibbitt. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. He married Linda Joyce Smith on December 5, 1969 in Cleburne, Texas. He worked as a machinist for Texas Name Plates before his retiring. He love to farm, raise chickens, ride motorcycles, building things with his hands, and watching squirrels play. Jerrell is preceded in his death by his parents and one brother. Those who are celebrating his life and dear memories are his wife, Linda Joyce; his daughter, Carolyn Renee De Leon and her husband, Edward, Sr.; his son, Sidney Jerrell Hibbitt, Jr. and his wife Nichole; seven grandchildren, Mandyln, Sidney, Branch, Christie, Eddie, Jr., Cecelia, and Joshua; three great grandchildren, Aden, Jordan, and Callie; and other relatives and friends. There will be a public visitation with the family on November 21, 2013 at Goggans Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM. His private burial will be in the Itasca Cemetery on Friday.
