Sandra Lynn (Garnett) Gardner was lovingly released from her earthly pain May 10, 2024 at the age of 72 in her Rockwall Texas home. Sandy was born May 28 1951 in Bossier City, Louisiana to Emuel and Erma Joanne (Austin) Garnett, the second daughter of five girls and one boy. Sandy enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors with her animals and was skilled at many crafts. Beautiful inside and out, Sandy was crowned the First Miss Ellsworth Universe in December 1968.
A graduate of Douglas High School in South Dakota, she later married William John Gardner with whom she had two children. When the family moved to New York, Sandy spent her days caring for them by working various retail jobs but also found time to play soccer, and created stained glass decor and paintings. Her passion was for horses and her dreams of owning an Arabian were realized when she eventually moved to Royse City, TX. If she wasn’t tending her horses, she was reaching out to her extended family and cherished grandchildren with her generous heart and spirit. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren and will continue to watch over them.
Sandy is survived by sisters Karen Sue Payne, Nancy Diane Garnett, Janet Lee King, Debra Kay Peel and favorite brother Donald Randle Ray Garnett; son William Gardner (Jennifer) and daughter Marie Burton and son-in-law J.R. Burton; granddaughters Ashleigh, Morgan, Jillian, Abigail, Julianna and grandson Oliver; numerous nieces and nephews.
