Roy William Servoss, 90, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 in Kaufman, Texas. Roy was born on March 16, 1924 to Reginald and Isabella Servoss in Berkley, California. Roy served his country with honor and distinction for over 20 years in the United States Navy. During World War II, he was present at the bombing of Pearl Harbor Station in Hawaii and is listed among the Pearl Harbor attack survivors. Roy would retire from the Navy and work many different jobs including bartending and grocery merchandising. Roy would meet and later marry Judy Shewmaker on September 2, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roy and Judy were members of the Lakeview Church in Quinlan; as well as a member of the American Legion Post 517 in Quinlan. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Isabella Servoss and his brother Frederick Earl Servoss. He is survived by his wife, Judy Servoss; sons Jerry Silvers and his wife LaWanda, Shane Silvers and his wife Darlene; daughter, Cindy Lindsey and her husband Tracy; grandchildren, Brittany, Christopher and J.J. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Reverend Adam Williams will officiate. The interment with military honors will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at 2:30 p.m. on the same day.
