Robert Lee Chriswisser, 82, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in Sunnyvale, Texas. Robert was born to John R. and Letha M. Chriswisser on May 1, 1930 in Nehawka, Nebraska. Robert served his country with distinction and honor in the United States Navy for twenty-two years. He would later also work in the private sector for the Zales Corporation and the Garland ISD. Robert was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a diehard booster and fan of the North Garland HS Red Raiders. Robert was also known for his colorful sense of humor, his ever-present smile and his love for high school football. But Roberts true passion was his love for his country and his family. His greatest moments were when he spent time with his wife, Brenda, children and grandchildren " always accompanied by his faithful companion; his dog, French Fry. His was a true love of life; as well as a passion for his family and his fellow man. He will truly be missed. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, John and Letha; as well as his sister, Eilleen Draper; his daughter, Robin Jo Chriswisser and his second mother, Florence Flossie Kroger. Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Brenda; sons, Allen W. Chriswisser, Johnnie L. Chriswisser and his wife Jodie, Terry Chriswisser and his wife Kim and Steven C. Berger and his wife Lorri; daughters, Jeanne Graham and her husband Alan and JoAnn Block-Eisen and her husband Rob; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Chriswisser and his wife Karen; sisters Joan Thomlinson and her husband George, Linda Orth and her husband Lloyd and Peggy Renker and her husband George; as well numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. A visitation and time of remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
