Richard Arthur Brumbaugh, Dick, of Elmo, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011in Mesquite. He was born on July 28, 1942 in Churubusco, Indiana, the son of Raymond and Pauline (Schwalm) Brumbaugh. He married Elaine Cooper on February 22, 1990 in Oklahoma. He worked for the City of Dallas until his retirement in 1996 and he was of the Christian Faith. Dick will be remembered for his love for his grandchildren, hunting and fishing, and his and Junior Johnsons Spit-n and Whittle Club, where he spent most of his evenings. He is survived by his wife; his children, Elizabeth Evans and her husband Mike of Australia, Steven Devon Brumbaugh of Florida, Charles Arthur Brumbaugh of Florida, Tony Allen Brumbaugh of Florida, Dana Kay Wright and her husband Gary of Kemp, and James E. Babovec, Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Terrell; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters, Barbara Hursey and her husband Bob of Columbia City, Indiana and Karen Booth of Illinois; brother, Roger Brumbaugh of South Whitney, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Kaufman Cemetery with Chaplin Lloyd Baldwin officiating. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 6-8 at the funeral home. His arrangements were made under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell.
