Peggy Joyce Roberts

Peggy Joyce Nichols Roberts, 85, went to her Heavenly home on September 19, 2024. She was born in Crandall, Texas on November 10, 1938, to parents Lewis Franklin Nichols and Annie Ruth Broyles Nichols, both of whom have preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crandall.

She married Lennie B. Roberts, Jr. (Sugar Mug) on December 24, 1955. They were together for 62 years before he passed away on May 29, 2018.

Peggy and Sugar Mug ran K & P Corner service station in Crandall for many years. In later years, you could find Peggy behind the cash register at the Russell Stover Candy Store in Terrell, always happy to see friends who stopped in.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Roberts of Combine and David Roberts of Kemp; daughter, Susan Wells of Combine; granddaughter, Kimberly Roberts; grandsons Christopher Wells and wife Jennifer, Johnny Roberts and wife Megan; 3 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Nichols Harvey of The Colony and brother Larry Nichols and Carolyn of Kemp, her sister-in-law Georgie Roberts of Arlington, and brother-in-law Ricky Newton and wife Molly of Crandall. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends who will miss her very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lennie B. Roberts, Jr., her brothers W.D. Nichols and Rodger Dale Nichols, sister Donna Nichols Newton, brother-in-law Don Harvey, sister-in-law Kay Nichols, brother-in-law Paschal Roberts and his wife Betty Lou Fowler Roberts, and brother-in-law Jimmy Roberts.
