Mr. Paul Gene Arney
Born July 23, 1935 - Passed January 16, 2021 at peace in his sleep due to complications of an Aortic Valve Stenosis.
Dad, Pops, GrandPaul, PawPaw, Brother and Friend are just a view of the names he answered to.
A true character, when asked how he was the answer was always “Terrible”…with a little snicker laugh. Paul lived well for his 85 years. He loved his lake life with friends and family. A Navy veteran sailing on the USS Oriskany during the Korean war, he always liked to share the story of the “Big O” being sunk off the coast of Florida to become the “Great Carrier Reef”. A Jack of all Trades and brilliant orator, he could cruise through the New York Times Crosswords Puzzle and Loved to play his 4 scratch off Lottery tickets every day! Paul worked with Union Bankers Life and was a disaster coordinator for FEMA.
Paul was predeceased by the love of his life Laura “Lolly” Arney. He has three children. Russel Paul Arney, Kristi Coggins (Buck) and Alisa Dean (Darrell). One of five children born to Henry and Annie Mary Arney, he was predeceased by his brother Daniel Henry Arney. Surviving siblings are Bettye Barclaye, Marilou Hicks and Carolyn Fisher. He has 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren with one on the way!
A celebration of Life will be scheduled for August 2021
