Orlan D. Wiley, 85, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Orlan was born to James and Mary Wiley on July 25, 1927 in Stanton, Texas. Orlan would meet and later marry Billie Jo Cates on July 19, 1951. Orlan served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Air Force during World War II. He would later work as a machinist for Marmon Trucking for many years. Orlan also worked his farm all his life. Orlan is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary; his beloved wife, Billie Jo; sons Michael Wiley and Russell Wiley; brothers, J.V. Wiley, Kenneth Wiley and Vernice Wiley. He is survived by his brother, Arvis Wiley; sisters-in-law, Marie Wiley and Norma Jean Wiley; granddaughter, Stephanie Renee Williams and her husband Joe; great-granddaughter, Callie Williams; as well as a host of extended family, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church in Kaufman, Texas. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell, Texas. Reverend Freddie Pendleton will officiate.
