Neta Jo Good Fowler was born on July 9th, 1928 to A.C. and Bonnie Good. She passed peacefully from this world on October 24, 2021. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday evening, October 28th, from 5-7 pm at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A service will be held at the Seagoville Church of Christ on Saturday October 30th at 1:30pm with a visitation prior to the service at 1:00pm. A graveside will be held in the Crandall Cemetery.
She was raised with her family in Crandall, Texas and graduated from Crandall High School in 1945. She married the love of her life, John “Bo” Fowler, in 1947. They moved around Texas for his job and in 1963, she had their only child, Carrie Lynn, in Ozona. Neta was known for her hard work and hospitality.
She worked with her husband at his job to do bookkeeping and also worked at Abilene Christian University to put her daughter through school, where her daughter met John Casada, who would become Neta’s son-in-law. Neta welcomed everyone in, with good cooking and a strong sense of community. She was a faithful member of the church of Christ, reading through her Bible numerous times and enthusiastically singing her favorite hymns, even while cooking meals to feed anyone who showed up to her house.
Neta had one grandchild, Carolyn Hope Casada, the joy of her later years, playing games, making treats, and spending weeks together in the summer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Mary Bett Shipley. She is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, as well as a niece, Molly (Roger) Cannon, three great-nephews, Matthew (Malia) Cannon, Luke (Kelly) Cannon, and Andrew Cannon, two great-great nephews, Hudson Cannon and Drew Cannon, and numerous other family members, whom she loved dearly.
