Miguel Vargas

Miguel Perez "Mike" Vargas, 83, of Terrell, Texas, passed away December 13, 2017.

Mike was born May 8, 1934, to Emilio and Marianna (Perez) Vargas in Carrizo Springs, TX. In 1956, he married Bertha Medina.

He was known as "Mike" or "Papa" to everyone. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He lived for his wife of 61 years. Mike retired from Power Lab where he worked for over 30 years. He was a man of adventure and travel. He cared deeply for all and always gave advice to live by. He loved to fish, but his true passion was taking care of his family.

Mike is survived by his wife, Bertha Vargas; daughter, Diana Morales and husband Sergio; daughter, Denise Barberine and ex-husband John; grand-daughter, Naomi Robledo and husband Rodolfo; grand-daughter, Anjelica Barberine; great grand-daughter, Alicia Robledo; great grand-son, Nigel Robledo; sisters, Josie Ortiz, Gloria Martinez, Susana Ramirez, Rosalinda Pichardo; brother, Felipe Vargas.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anjelita Fuentes; brothers, Cornelio Vargas, Max Vargas; brother-in-law, Ike Medina and wife Mary Alice.

Family will be receiving loved ones and friends, Friday, December 15, 2017, 6-7 PM; with Rosary 7-8 PM at Goggans Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12:00 PM, at St John's Catholic Church, Terrell, Texas, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Terrell.
