Marie Jones

Marie Jones, 83, passed away on April 23, 2013 surrounded by her loving family in Plano. She was born on December 17, 1929 to her parents, George and Ada Kornegay, in Byrd, TX. Marie married the love of her life, Hardie R. Jones Jr., on November 27, 1948 and they were happily married for 56 years. Marie spent the last 57 years as a Terrell resident and was the owner of Hardie Jones Real Estate. Those left to celebrate her life include her only Daughter, Joy Ferguson and husband Charles, her two Sons; Jimi Jones and wife Kelli, and Stephen Jones and wife Trisha, her Grandchildren; Christopher Ferguson, Trent Jones, Collin Jones, and Paightyn Jones, her Sister, Betty Joy Sloan and husband Ray, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Marie now joins her beloved husband, Hardie, her parents, George and Ada Kornegay, brother, Ogie Kornegay, and sister, Frances Carlton in Heaven. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Prestonwood Court in Plano for their loving care and support of Marie over the last few months. Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Goggans Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held from 7:00 " 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Terrell.
