Lonnie Shipley, 77, of Crandall, passed away July 27, 2012 in the peace of his home. He was born January 11, 1935 in Forney, the son of Dennie S. and Eunice Thelma (Holloway) Shipley. Lonnie married Mary Bett Good on April 9, 1954 in Crandall. Lonnie was a master carpenter for 45 years before his retiring. He will be remembered for his love to work, his love for his grandchildren, for farming and growing vegetables. He also served in the Texas National Guard. He was preceded in his death by his wife, Mary Bett Shipley, parents, Dennie and Eunice Shipley; sisters, Doris Fleming and Bonnie Stacy; and brothers, Holloway Shipley and Billy Joe Shipley. Those left to celebrate his life include his daughter, Molly Cannon and her husband Roger; three grandsons, Matthew Cannon, Luke Cannon, and Andrew Cannon; sister, Delores New; brother, Sonny Shipley; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. A gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Crandall Church of Christ. The funeral service, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home, will be held at Seagoville Church of Christ on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., with Bill Burk officiating.
