Leona Lucille Scantling Parker, 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in Terrell, Texas. Lucille was born on August 9, 1930 to Robert and Margie Scantling in Terrell,Texas. Lucille was a simple lady with simple tastes. She would spend her life in service to her family; creating a warm, loving and safe home for her husband, children and grandchildren. Lucille was an awesome cook and especially famous for her rice pudding. Lucille had a warm smile, loving heart and gentle spirit. She encouraged her children and grandchildren and opened her home and arms to anyone in need. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margie Scantling; grandsons, Michael Hickson and Robert Ragan; brothers,Robert Scantling and James Scantling; sister, Shirley Scantling. Those left to celebrate her memory include her husband of 47 year, Robert Parker; son Robert Ragan,Sr. and his wife Sue; daughter, Billie Wiggins and her husband Tommy; grandchildren, Elizabeth Garris and her husband Mike, Debra Adrian and her husband Jimmy, Carl Hickson, Jr., Amy Hickson, Christina Ragan, Robert Fox, Robert Ryan Ragan; great-grandchildren, Jessica Young and her husband Adam, Jamie Hyles and Cody, Ashley Jones, Dylan Ragan, Brittany Light, Michael Hickson, Christina Hickson, Cheyanne Grady, Mychaela Grady, Brianna Ragan, Mariah Ragan, Anthony Ragan, Katelynn Hickson, Jimmy Fox, Bradley Fox and Colt Fox; great-great grandchildren, Mark, Adam, Mason, Jesse, Casey, Hailey, Landon and Cameron; brothers, Paul Scantling and Jesse Scantling; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
