Leo Sparks

Leo Dennis Sparks Sr, 90, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Greenville, Texas. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in the Goggans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Terrell, TX under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Goggans Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016.

L.D. was born November 8, 1926 in Terrell, Texas, to J.H. Sparks and Omega Coffman Sparks. L.D. proudly served and retired from the United States Air Force. He worked as a truck driver, after his service in the Air Force. L.D. married Billie McKelvey on October 31, 1955. He loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed by them and many friends.

Those left to cherish his memory; daughters, Thelma Tate, Deborah Minton, Rene Turner, Denise Wilkinson, Shawnell Kirk; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. L.D. is preceded in death by his loving wife; parents; son, Leo D. Sparks, Jr; sisters, Thelma Smith and Vada Bergman.
