Janie Yates

Janie Beth Yates, 72, of Terrell, passed away January 2, 2011 in the peace of her home. She was born June 28, 1939 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ernest Aaron Smith and Marguerite Elsie (Mc Anally) Smith. She was a member of the College Mound United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Wolfe of Terrell; son, Dustin Yates and his wife Shannon of San Antonio; grandchildren, Christopher Wolfe, Kendall Harper, Jessica Yates, Bridgette Yates, and Alec Yates; bother Hal Smith; other relatives and friends. Janie is preceded in her death by her husband, James Speights; parents, Earnest Aaron and Marguerite Elsie (Mc Anally) Smith; brother, Larry Smith; and sister Nan McMain. Her service will be Thursday, January 5, at 10:30 am at College Mound United Methodist Church, with Brother Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow the service at 4:00 pm at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday night, January 4, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
