James Mathis

James William Mathis, 80, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 in Greenville, Texas. James was born to Robert and Annie Mathis on January 8, 1932 in Terrell and raised in the Terrell and Able Springs community. He later met and married his beloved wife Florence. James served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. James was a truck driver all of his life and was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign War. James is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Annie; as well as his wife Florence. He is survived by his dear friends Glenn Raines and Gloria Gaylor. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas. Burial will immediately follow the service at Weaver Cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Shepherd will officiate.
