James Dyer

Celebration of Life for James William Marion Dyer, age 76, of Rockwall, Texas will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Yost officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm at Goggans Funeral, Terrell, Texas. Jim passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Jim was born November 13, 1948 to Lester and Pauline Dyer. He married the love of his life, Vicky Stephens Dyer on October 1, 2001 in Maui, Hawaii. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas and went to College at East Texas State in Commerce, Texas. He was a Trooper for the Texas Department of Public Safety, owned and operated Dyer Koach Kraft in Dallas, was Vice Chairman of the Board of Skyline Savings and Loan, played semi-pro football, and loved baseball. He never met a car that he didn’t like and loved anything auto related. The hot rod he built was featured in several magazines. He attended Owenwood United Methodist Church before moving to Rockwall where he joined First United Methodist Church Rockwall and was a faithful member of the J.E. Wilson Sunday School Class.

Jim is survived by his wife, Vicky Stephens Dyer, and brother, Charles Dyer, Son, Jeremy Dyer and wife Raquel, Daughters Lori Robertson and husband Steve, Shawna Quinn and husband Rich, Lesley Bond and husband Jerry, Stepson Stephen Warrick and his wife Jessica, Grandchildren Colston, Carrigan, Christian, Callie, Tanner, Trevor, Tristen, Truett, Jesse, Jennifer and husband Colton, Jaquelin, Morgan, Brooke and husband Blake, Cody and wife Alexandera, Corrie and Bree. He was preceded in death by Lester and Pauline Dyer.

The family request donations to the First United Methodist Church Rockwall Building Fund in lieu of flowers.

Jim was a bigger than life character and will be greatly missed.
