Harold Stephens

Harold Ray Stephens, 89, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 in Granbury, Texas. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Goggans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at the Clifton Cemetery in Emory, TX under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Goggans Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016.

Harold was born September 7, 1926 in Carrollton, Texas to James Edward Stephens and Mitty Bell Tutt. Harold proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for Dallas Power and Light as a Lineman until he retired and was also a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge in Dallas. Harold married Cleta Maudean Mitchell May 14, 1955 in Dallas, Texas. He was dedicated and loved dearly his family and his wife and will be deeply missed by them and many friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years Cleta Stephens; son Gregory Paul Stephens and wife Karen of Crandall, Texas; daughters Mitzi Rhuenell Johnson and husband Tim of Granbury, Texas, Cindi Gayle Stovenour and husband Michael of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren Greg Jr., Michael Jr., Justin, Steven, Katie, Olvia and Timothy; great grandchildren Dylan C., Chloe, Isaiah, Dylan R. and Addi; numerous nieces and nephews. Harold is preceded in death by his son Mark Edward Stephens; parents James Edward Stephens and Mitty Bell Stephens; brothers Alfred Stephens, Clarence Stephens and Hollis Stephens.
