Geneva Rattan

Geneva Margaret Rattan, 84, passed away at her home in Terrell, Texas on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Geneva was born on August 29, 1928 to Elmer H. and Eula Mae Lewis in Dallas, Texas. Geneva met and later married Harless E. Rattan on his birthday, December 9, 1949 in Dallas, Texas. Geneva worked for many years as a mail handler at the Dallas Main Station of the United States Post Office and raised two children, Stevan and Terri. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Eula Mae; her husband, Harless and one brother. Those left to celebrate her life include her son, Stevan Rattan and his wife Reva; daughter Terri Barto and her husband Gary; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and numerous friends and neighbors. A private interment will be held at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. A celebration of Geneva's life will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Kaufman. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Geneva's name to the Children's Hospital of Dallas
