November 6, 1923 — October 20, 2012

Florence Singleton Florence Singleton (Hall), 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 20, 2012 in Terrell, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born in Galveston, Kentucky on Branhams Creek, on November 6, 1923 to her parents Cassie and Bessie Hall. She married Robert Lee Singleton in Galveston, Texas on January 3, 1943 and to this union were seven children. Florence is survived by her sons, Roy Lee Singleton and wife Darlene, Ray Singleton, Billy Singleton, and Bobby Singleton; daughters, Lois Eskue and Joyce Overstreet; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Florence is preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Cassie and Bessie, her son Joe Singleton Pee Wee, and grandson Wesley Denton Singleton. Florence was the second child of fourteen brothers and sisters. She worked as a cook at the Terrell State Hospital and Red Colemans Deli. At the Deli she could choose her own hours because she made such good pies. Their door was always open to her. She raised a garden every year and would can surplus vegetables, berries and fruits. There was always plum jelly to be had. She loved children and reading her Bible. It was very important to her that her family be baptized and live right. Just like Geronimo, she had a strong will and would let you know what she thought and was strict in her beliefs. She often said that if its worth doing, its worth doing right. We will miss her driving force and love. Services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Goggans Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Coffey will officiate. Internment will be at Elmo Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
