Evelyn Murphy

Evelyn Dawn Murphy, 86, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at her home in Caddo Mills, Texas. Evelyn was born on September 5, 1928 to Alfred and Estella Haffer in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She would meet and marry Arthur Murphy, Jr. They would have two children, Ronnie and Peggy. Evelyn would create and maintain a loving and safe home for her husband and children. She would later work as a lunchroom cashier for the Ferris ISD well into her eighties before retiring. Evelyn loved people. She loved to talk. She enjoyed reaching out and talking to her friends and family on the telephone for hours always wanting to know the news of the day and keeping track of her children and grandchildren. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Estella Haffer; husband Arthur M. Murphy, Jr.; brother Alfred Haffer, Jr.; sisters, Ida Mae Cowlishaw and Colleen Nichols. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ronnie Murphy and his iwfe Donna; daughter, Peggy Callier and her husband Darrell; grandchildren, Tracy, Darrell, Jr., Mandi, Shelley, Kelli and Marrk; great-grandchildren,Loren, Lindsey, Tommy, Ashlee, Chase, Kaitlynn, Cody, Justinn, Maycee, Matt, Meagann and Jace; and one great-great-grandchild. A private family memorial service is to be scheduled at a later date.
