Afterglow
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when my life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when my life is done...
Eric Nelson Knight, age 51, passed away May 31, 2017 in Terrell, Texas. He was born July 8, 1965, in Dallas, Texas to Nelson E. and Charlene "Terry" Dragna Knight.
Eric was a free spirit that loved life and lived it to the absolute fullest. Lately he had fallen in love with hang gliding and parasailing. Like everything Eric loved, he pursued this passion "full steam ahead" and grinning that very special "Eric grin" ear to ear.
Eric had a heart the size of Texas and left a piece of his heart with anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Eric and Brandon would want those left behind to remember those special moments, wrapped in a blanket of love spent with beloved family and precious friends. There is no place either of them would rather be, than with family. They left this earth together, surrounded by the love of family and enjoying life to the fullest. That is how they would want us to remember them by the "Afterglow" of the lives they lived and the love they took with them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Knight; grandparents, Charles and Florence Dragna and Myrtle and Morris Ivy; and his niece, Brianna Knearem.
Eric is survived by his mother, Charlene "Terry" Knight; four sisters, Cindy Knight, Gina Knight-Renfrow, Beth Knight White, and Kristi Knight; one brother, John Knight; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Eric Knight and Brandon Stayton be made to Brandon's beautiful daughter's college fund. Brandon always wanted what was best for Serenity and his top priority was her education. All donations can be made through her go fund me page, https://www.gofundme.com/serenity-staytons-college-fund.
