Charles Bran Shelby, a revered and respected individual, passed on December 20, 2023, at his home in Forney, Texas. Born on March 11, 1934, in Winnsboro, Texas. Charles lived a remarkable life that touched the hearts of all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering determination, Charles established himself as a prominent figure in the corrugated manufacturing industry. He dedicated his career to building and growing his own corrugated manufacturing business. His expertise and visionary leadership made him a highly regarded name in the industry. Charles' contributions not only fostered growth but also generated employment opportunities for many within the community.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charles possessed a zest for life that was evident in his vast array of hobbies and interests. An avid golfer and runner, he cherished the outdoors and deeply enjoyed fishing and hunting. Charles's enthusiasm extended to more unconventional pursuits as well; he had mastered the art of tap dancing and delighted those around him with his skills. Furthermore, he was an aviation enthusiast who enjoyed piloting small aircraft. In addition to these passions, Charles also found joy in supporting various sports activities like football, basketball, and baseball.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Shelby; sister, Blix Shelby-Harris; daughter, Brannet Shelby; grandson, Darshan Eric Charles Rachal; granddaughter, Mia Driesbach; granddaughter, Keva Manuel; great granddaughter, Elissia Rachal; niece, Teresa Shelby; niece, Annette Shelby; nephew, Charles "CB" Brochers; niece, Denise Borchers-Leyendecker; niece, Davyne Borchers-Aguero; and niece Laura Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Susan Grant; grandfather, Dr Henry Harrison Stephenson; grandfather, Jesse Fox Shelby; grandmother, Lula Lona-Pines; sister, Laura Lou Shelby; father, Mack Shelby; mother, Mary Blanche Stephenson-Shelby; brother, Jim Shelby; and sister, Susan Shelby-Borchers.
Throughout his life, Charles Bran Shelby exhibited qualities that inspired those around him. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted individual who touched the lives of many through his warm personality and unwavering support. Charles' generosity knew no bounds; he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
The memory of Charles Bran Shelby's vibrant spirit will forever remain etched in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace and may we continue to celebrate the extraordinary life that he led.
Memorials can be made to the Methodist Children’s home in Waco.
