Carol Kaye

February 29, 1952 – December 7, 2024

Carol Kaye (née Patterson) passed away peacefully on the evening of December 7 at the age of 18. (She loved that leap-joke.) Carol was a warm, engaging and jovial personality, always willing to help the many she called friends. She spent countless hours volunteering for Find-a-Grave and Ancestry. She and her partner Carl were active members of Rolling Thunder, bringing awareness to POW/MIA issues, supporting veterans’ wellness, and providing memorial honors for fallen veterans. In her later years they traveled throughout the country as full-time RVers, checking off dozens of sights and states before “hunkering down” in Terrell, Texas.

Carol is preceded in death by her mother Juanita Patterson and father Boyd Patterson. She is survived by her partner Carl Payne, her son Daniel Kelly, her daughter-in-law Libby Vanatta, and Little Bear-Bear. At her request, no services will be held. Her life and love will be celebrated privately by her family. Her memory will be held close to the hearts of all she touched.
