Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when my life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when my life is done…
Brandon Louis Stayton, age 32, passed away May 31, 2017 in Terrell, Texas. He was born January 6, 1985 in Dallas, Texas.
Brandon cherished his family and his daughter was the light of his life. Brandon also enjoyed fast cars, fishing, family time, and being surrounded by his family, friends, fellow band members, and co-workers. Brandon had a gift and a passion for singing. So many have been blessed with the opportunity to enjoy the talents of this amazing young man. For all of us that love Brandon, we will forever have his song in our hearts.
Eric and Brandon would want those left behind to remember those special moments, wrapped in a blanket of love spent with beloved family and precious friends. There is no place either of them would rather be, than with family. They left this earth together, surrounded by the love of family and enjoying life to the fullest. That is how they would want us to remember them by the "Afterglow" of the lives they lived and the love they took with them.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nelson Knight.
Brandon is survived by his mother, Beth Knight White; his father, Brad Stayton; step-father, John White; his beautiful daughter, Serenity Stayton and her mother, Kellie Gragson; his sister, Brittany Stayton; his brother, Blake Stayton; grandparents, Charlene "Terry" Knight, Bert and Bruce Grantham, Charles Louis and JoAnn Stayton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Eric Knight and Brandon Stayton be made to Brandon's beautiful daughter's college fund. Brandon always wanted what was best for Serenity and his top priority was her education. All donations can be made through her go fund me page, https://www.gofundme.com/serenity-staytons-college-fund.
