Bertha Bankston

Bertha Mae Bankston, 75, passed away quietly on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Rockwall, Texas. Bertha Mae was born April 20, 1937 to Will and Ruby Mae Parker in Dallas County, Texas. Bertha Mae married James C. Bankston on July 22, 1955 in Kaufman, Texas. Bertha Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Will and Ruby Mae; her husband, James; three brothers and two sisters. Those left to celebrate her life include her son, James Bankston; daughters, DeLoris Overton, Susie Cullen and her husband Dick; brothers, Troy Parker,Ray Parker and his wife Charlet; sister-in-law Loretta Parker; sisters, Joy Green and her husband Jimmy, Ruth Cooper and her husband Johnny, Oudia Hardy; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors. A gathering of friends and family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2012 at Goggans Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Forney, Texas will immediately follow the service.
