Daphene Vaught

Funeral services for Daphene Vaught, age 84, of Kaufman will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 at Goggans Funeral Home with Kenneth Butler officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, February 14th, 2023 at Goggans Funeral Home. Daphene went to be with our Lord on February 7th, 2023 at Windsor Healthcare, Terrell.

Daphene was born on August 26th, 1938 in Emory, TX to Egbert and Jessie (Northcut) Wade. She married the love of her life, Tom Vaught on July 25th, 1955 in Durant, OK. Daphene worked in food services and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and crocheting. She also liked working in her vegetable garden and canning the fresh vegetables she grew. She also especially enjoyed spending time playing with her grand kids and great grand kids.

Daphene is survived by her daughter, Carol Dodd and husband Dennis of Kaufman, TX; granddaughter, Jessie Hernandez and husband Jordan of Rowlett, TX; granddaughter, Elizabeth Thorpe and husband Chad of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Leslie Hock of Keller, TX; granddaughter, Emma Vaught of Grapevine, TX; great grandchildren, Lucas, Landry, Garrett, and Raylan; and sister Sue McDonald and husband Jerome of Point, TX.

Daphene was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Vaught; son, Charles Vaught; father, Egbert Wade; mother, Jessie Wade; sister, Elbertine Luckett; sister, Maxine Jordan; sister, Murlene Arnold; and brother, OJ Wade.
